Trainee Export Clerk

We are looking for an enthusiastic Trainee level candidate who is keen to start a career in Freight Forwarding.

Working for a very well established Freight Forwarder based in Sunbury

Full training will be provided, and you will learn all aspects of the air export process from start to finish. Working alongside experienced members of the team, you will gradually develop the knowledge and practical skills required to manage air export shipments confidently and independently.

As you progress through your training, you will gain experience in:
• Handling air export shipments from initial booking through to final departure and delivery
• Taking and processing customer bookings
• Liaising with customers, airlines, hauliers, overseas agents and other suppliers
• Preparing and checking air freight documentation
• Producing and processing Air Waybills
• Arranging collections and deliveries
• Making airline bookings and coordinating shipment schedules
• Understanding airline cut-off times and export procedures
• Monitoring shipments and providing customers with regular updates
• Learning basic customs and export requirements
• Preparing quotations and understanding freight rates and charges
• Updating shipment information accurately on internal systems
• Checking supplier invoices and shipment costs
• Maintaining accurate records and filing documentation
• Dealing with customer queries by telephone and email
• Learning how to resolve day-to-day operational issues

No previous freight forwarding experience is necessary, as full training will be provided.
