We are looking for a candidate to take on a 3 month secondment as the General Manager for Renal & Urology.

Reporting to the Clinical Director and working in partnership with other senior clinicians in the Care Group management team, the key purpose of this position is to support the Clinical Director by managing the delivery of a range of complex clinical services within the Care Group and for implementing and managing systems and processes to ensure that all services are delivered in accordance with Care Group, Division and Trust objectives and Trust-wide policies.

The post holder will be accountable for the delivery of high quality, cost effective services within budget constraints. They will provide strong leadership to enable the services to respond effectively to challenges whilst providing efficient clinical services and sustained improvements.

Person specification

Education, Qualifications & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Master’s degree in healthcare or management or demonstrable ability to work at Master’s level
  • Significant management experience in a senior role within the acute sector in particular operational management.
  • Proven record of financial management at senior level, delivering on complex and large budgets including reducing costs, monitoring and determining corrective action.
  • Forward thinking and be able to lead and transform culture, including shaping and implementing a vision for future service development
  • Proven track record of meeting national targets including RTT
