Referral Officer

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Islington to assist with the appointment of a  Referral Officer , on a 3-month contract , likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay : £20.09 - £26.73 per Hour

Summary:

The Referral Officer plays a pivotal role in Islingtons Childrens Services Contact Team, acting as the first point of contact for referrals to both Childrens Social Care and Targeted Services. As part of the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), the post holder ensures the accurate and efficient handling of information to facilitate timely decisions that safeguard and promote the welfare of children. The Referral Officer supports social work professionals by gathering information, updating systems, and liaising with partner agencies to deliver a high-quality, responsive service.

Responsibilities:

• Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in line with Child Protection standards.
• Manage and improve administrative systems to support service objectives.
• Work collaboratively with CSCT managers, social workers, and MASH partners to ensure prompt responses to referrals.
  
• Maintain effective communication and working relationships with internal departments, partner agencies, and clients.
• Handle enquiries sensitively and ensure accurate logging of calls and messages.

Requirements:

• Significant experience in an administrative role.
  
• Experience managing diaries and minuting meetings to a high standard.
• Minimum GCSEs including English (or equivalent).
  
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) at an advanced level.

• You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
• You should have right to work in U.K
• This role requires an Enhanced DBS
