Forge connections, explore new horizons, and unlock growth opportunities in this 10-week journey. Join us during the summer of your penultimate year of university to build skills, expand knowledge, and embark on an impactful path towards a promising career.

Why the UK Corporate Banking Summer Intern programme?

The Barclays UK Corporate bank oversees senior corporate coverage within the bank's home market. This unit strategically collaborates with major corporate clients in the UK to address their banking requirements. What distinguishes us is our industry-specialised approach, ensuring all our staff are experts within our chosen markets. With regional offices providing nationwide coverage, we can effectively assist and engage with all UK corporations, utilising a localised relationship model.

As a summer analyst, you will gain foundational banking knowledge, teaching you about a bank's role in the UK economy. You will help aid strategic clients with diverse needs, from everyday banking to intricate mergers, acquisitions, and broader areas like Environmental, Social and Governance planning. As an intern, you'll start to learn vital relationship and technical skills for a banking career, and engage with various banking divisions, mastering the skills required for exceptional Corporate banking.

UK Corporate Banking

Barclays UK Corporate Banking is a great place to begin and build a long, varied, and successful career. You’ll be exposed to an unrivalled depth and breadth of experience.

The UK Corporate and Barclaycard Payments Coverage team connects UK businesses turning over £6.5m pa up to FTSE 350 with comprehensive banking solutions, offering tailored services in payments, lending, trade, risk, and industry-specific needs. Our dedicated sector and regional specialists provide deep business insights, ensuring clients receive relevant advice and create seamless end-to-end experiences. Additionally, the Barclaycard Payments Coverage team specialises in efficient, reliable, and secure payment methods for online, in-person, or phone transactions, providing detailed reporting and analytics to help clients understand trends and improve processes.

Who we're looking for

To be considered for this programme, you must be in your penultimate year of your degree, in any discipline.

Ideally, you'll have a keen interest in finance and business. We value resourcefulness, teamwork, enthusiasm and an entrepreneurial spirit, all of which might be showcased through your involvement in extracurricular activities.

The location for this role is indicated in the job title, and you will be based at that location. If you are accepted into our graduate programme, your base location will be the same as it was during your internship.

Applicants for this position will need the legal right to work in the UK on a full time basis from June 2026 to August 2026. This is not a role which we can offer sponsorship for at this time.

If you secure a place on our Internship Programme, and this subsequently leads to you receiving an offer for our Graduate Programme, the 2027 Graduate Programme is not one which we can offer sponsorship for at this time. Accordingly, to participate in the Graduate Programme, you would require having the legal right to work full time for the duration of that Programme (i.e. August 2027 to August 2029)
