A visionary and accomplished Business specialist is required to join an outstanding secondary school in Newham from September 2026. This is a full-time, permanent leadership opportunity for an experienced practitioner ready to lead a high-performing department and drive academic excellence across the curriculum.

The Role
Leading and managing the Business department, ensuring the highest standards of teaching, learning, and student attainment across KS4 and KS5.
Designing and overseeing a stimulating curriculum that covers GCSE, A-Level, and vocational pathways (such as BTEC or CTEC), ensuring it remains rigorous and industry-relevant.
Mentoring and developing departmental staff through professional learning, peer observations, and collaborative planning.
Driving the integration of digital resources and modern pedagogical techniques to enhance student understanding of global markets and enterprise.
Monitoring student data with precision to implement effective interventions and maintain a track record of exceptional results.
Coordinating departmental resources and managing budgets to ensure a high-quality learning environment for all pupils.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
A strong honors degree in Business Studies, Economics, or a related field.
Proven experience as a successful teacher at KS4 and KS5, with a track record of achieving top grades in both academic and vocational qualifications.
Previous leadership experience (e.g., Key Stage Lead or Second in Department) or a clear readiness to step into a Head of Department role.
Exceptional organizational skills and a professional, resilient approach to school leadership.
A commitment to fostering links with local businesses and providing students with real-world insights into the commercial sector.
