Engineering Leader

As a key member of the senior leadership team, this influential role encompasses engineering strategy, infrastructure, reliability, asset performance, continuous improvement, and capital investment. You will lead central engineering activities and contribute to creating a more integrated function across multiple sites.
Success hinges equally on building credibility and relationships as technical expertise, requiring someone who thrives on bringing people together, influencing without reliance solely on hierarchy, and balancing long-term strategy with operational demands.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute engineering strategy aligned to organisational goals and objectives.
- Lead central engineering and continuous improvement activities to optimise reliability and asset performance.
- Drive consistency and excellence across engineering standards and practices.
- Manage OPEX and CAPEX budgets to ensure efficient resource allocation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to optimise engineering processes and delivery.
- Influence engineering standards and ensure alignment to safety and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to organisational transformation initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
- Proven engineering leadership experience in complex, asset-intensive environments (e.g., heavy industrial manufacturing, utilities, infrastructure, chemicals).
- Chartered or professionally qualified engineering credentials.
- Strong electrical and/or multi-disciplinary engineering expertise.
- Experience leading engineering within complex operational environments.
- Track record of improving reliability, asset performance, and engineering standards.
- Experience operating across matrix organisations and multiple stakeholder groups.
- Demonstrated ability to influence without relying solely hierarchical authority.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders and build credibility.
