We're looking for someone who can develop and inspire a high-performing marketing team while remaining deeply involved in shaping our brand, category and market presence. You'll combine strategic leadership with hands-on execution, ensuring Genie AI becomes the company people think of whenever legal AI is discussed

  • Build and lead a high-performing marketing team of four across brand, content, product marketing and demand generation

  • Create alignment across marketing, product, sales and leadership

  • Develop marketing strategy while remaining hands-on in key launches, campaigns and category-building initiatives purpose in our mission

Your manager and team

Our org structure is made up of pods with distinct areas of focus to keep us all working on the most impactful things for our customers all of the time. Some of our team members work across multiple pods. Our structure was conceived with impact, autonomy and velocity in mind and we'd love to share more with you throughout our interview process. Your manager, Rafie Faruq - Co-Founder & CEO, will develop your skills and enable you to deliver on the pod mission.

This is what you’ll be doing

As our Head of Marketing and Mindshare, you'll be joining us at a dynamic stage of growth where your impact will be visible across the entire business.

This role combines strategy and execution. You'll spend time building plans behind the scenes, but you'll also be highly visible externally; meeting customers, speaking at events, creating content, building relationships and generating excitement around Genie AI.

Below is what we need you to do. The how is up to you:

  • Lead the marketing function: Provide leadership, coaching and direction for a team of four marketers, creating an environment where ambitious ideas turn into measurable impact

  • Build marketing strategy: Develop Genie's overall marketing strategy across brand, product marketing, communications, demand generation and mindshare

  • Build market awareness and mindshare: Develop and execute strategies that increase awareness, conversation volume and advocacy for Genie AI across legal, procurement, operations and AI audiences

  • Own distribution: Ensure Genie's content, product launches, customer stories and thought leadership reach millions of the right people through innovative distribution strategies, partnerships, communities, influencers, media and advocacy programmes

  • Own category leadership: Shape how the market thinks about legal AI, contract creation and legal operations by developing narratives, positioning and campaigns that help define the category

  • Become a public face of Genie AI: Represent Genie AI through social media, podcasts, webinars, conferences, customer conversations, industry events and media opportunities

  • Build relationships that compound: Develop meaningful relationships with customers, influencers, partners, journalists, legal leaders, procurement professionals and AI communities to increase trust, reach and advocacy

  • Create memorable moments: Design and execute creative campaigns, marketing stunts, launches and initiatives that generate attention, conversation and lasting market impact

  • Champion storytelling: Translate complex products and technology into compelling stories that customers, prospects and industry leaders understand, remember and share

  • Measure and improve mindshare: Build frameworks that help us understand brand awareness, market influence, word-of-mouth growth and share of attention over time

  • Stay hands-on: Roll up your sleeves when it matters most. Whether launching products, creating campaigns or speaking at industry events, you'll lead by example rather than from the sidelines.

Over your first 90 days you can expect us to help point you in the right direction to set you up for success. During the interview process we can talk you through a high level overview of your 90 day plan.

By the end of your first six months we expect you to have:
  • Built strong operating rhythms across the marketing team

We’ll continually develop and measure success on the below criteria:
  • Growth in brand awareness, market influence and share of voice

  • Growth in organic advocacy, referrals and word-of-mouth acquisition

  • Reach and engagement across distribution channels and communities

  • Success of product launches, campaigns and market-facing initiatives

  • Growth in external relationships, speaking opportunities and industry influence

What this means is that we adapt to our customers' needs, and the problems we’re solving today could be very different in six months, or even by the end of this recruitment process. You should expect to work with us on how your role develops, grows and changes throughout your time at Genie.

  • Building mindshare is inherently ambiguous; you'll often be creating opportunities and defining success where no playbook exists

  • You'll need to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution and personal visibility in the market

The skills you need to succeed in this role

  • Experience leading and developing marketing teams

  • Experience building marketing strategy

  • Experience managing cross-functional stakeholders

  • Comfortable moving between leadership and hands-on execution

  • Experience scaling marketing within high-growth SaaS or AI companies

  • Proven track record of growing awareness, influence or category leadership for a company, product, personal brand or community

  • Experience developing and executing multi-channel distribution strategies spanning content, social media, communities, influencers, PR, events and thought leadership

  • Exceptional storytelling, communication and relationship-building skills

  • Experience representing a company, brand or movement publicly through content creation, speaking engagements, media, podcasts, events or community leadership

  • Strong understanding of modern AI tools and workflows, with an AI-native mindset towards scaling impact and productivity.

  • Commercial acumen and the ability to engage credibly with legal, procurement, operations or B2B audiences

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a demonstrated ability to build something from scratch and create momentum with limited resources

  • Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a high-growth startup environment
