Ongoing Temp Administration Assistant - Mayfair School
We are seeking an organised and proactive Administration Assistant to join a well-established education group with schools across Central London. This long-term temporary role is based primarily at a newly established Mayfair school, supporting the Head of School and wider school team with a broad range of administrative responsibilities. The position is due to start as soon as possible, ideally before the new school term begins in September, and is expected to continue on a long-term temporary basis. There is the potential for the role to go permanent.
Hours: Term-time only, either part-time (Monday to Friday, 8:00am–1:00pm), or full-time (8:00am–5:00pm).
Key Responsibilities
- Providing administrative support to the Head of School
- Managing pupil records and updating the school's management information system
- Monitoring attendance and maintaining accurate records
- Coordinating school communications, newsletters and correspondence
- Supporting the admissions process and maintaining pupil files
- Assisting with finance administration, including processing invoices and maintaining records
- Supporting HR administration and onboarding processes
- Ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels
- Liaising with external agencies, contractors and local authority contacts
- Providing general administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the school
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous administration experience; school experience is beneficial but not essential
- Able to independently, take ownership and thrive with minimal supervision
- Calm, professional and diplomatic, with the confidence to manage expectations and communicate effectively with parents and visitors
- Organised, reactive and comfortable following established processes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confident using Microsoft Office (SIMS experience is advantageous but not essential)
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail and discretion
- Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding responsibilities
- Available to start before the new school term in September and commit to a long-term temporary assignment
