Ongoing Temp Administration Assistant - Mayfair School

Oriel Partners
London

We are seeking an organised and proactive Administration Assistant to join a well-established education group with schools across Central London. This long-term temporary role is based primarily at a newly established Mayfair school, supporting the Head of School and wider school team with a broad range of administrative responsibilities. Due to the unique layout of the building, you'll work independently for much of the day, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who is confident taking ownership, works proactively and thrives with minimal supervision.

The position is due to start as soon as possible, ideally before the new school term begins in September, and is expected to continue on a long-term temporary basis. There is the potential for the role to go permanent.

Hours: Term-time only, either part-time (Monday to Friday, 8:00am–1:00pm), or full-time (8:00am–5:00pm).

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing administrative support to the Head of School
  • Managing pupil records and updating the school's management information system
  • Monitoring attendance and maintaining accurate records
  • Coordinating school communications, newsletters and correspondence
  • Supporting the admissions process and maintaining pupil files
  • Assisting with finance administration, including processing invoices and maintaining records
  • Supporting HR administration and onboarding processes
  • Ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels
  • Liaising with external agencies, contractors and local authority contacts
  • Providing general administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the school

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous administration experience; school experience is beneficial but not essential
  • Able to independently, take ownership and thrive with minimal supervision
  • Calm, professional and diplomatic, with the confidence to manage expectations and communicate effectively with parents and visitors
  • Organised, reactive and comfortable following established processes
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confident using Microsoft Office (SIMS experience is advantageous but not essential)
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail and discretion
  • Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding responsibilities
  • Available to start before the new school term in September and commit to a long-term temporary assignment
