Construction Associate - Elite US Law Firm 2-6PQE in City of London
Job description
Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking a 2-6PQE Associate to join its London-based non-contentious construction team. This opportunity offers exposure to complex, cross-border projects across multiple sectors and geographies.
Overview
Our client’s construction practice supports organisations worldwide with the full spectrum of front-end construction matters. The team is active in major industries including transport infrastructure (roads, airports, ports, rail and utilities), energy (oil & gas, petrochemicals, hydrogen, power generation and renewables), technology and data centres, mining and metals, as well as large-scale commercial developments.
The group regularly advises sponsors, lenders, funds, and corporates on sophisticated procurement and construction mandates. Associates often collaborate with colleagues across project finance, real estate, technology, M&A and private equity on transactions involving high-value infrastructure and energy assets.
You will gain significant exposure to deals spanning Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia, working closely with sovereigns, multinational corporations, state-owned enterprises, global technology businesses, private equity houses, infrastructure investors, and leading financial institutions.
The wider Projects & Energy practice is consistently recognised by the major legal directories. The team has a reputation for excellence and a collaborative, supportive culture where associates are encouraged to build long-term careers.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of construction contracts, including EPC and EPCM structures.
- Advise both sponsors and lenders on construction arrangements linked to project-financed deals.
- Work in tandem with colleagues across practice groups to deliver seamless support on complex, multi-jurisdictional matters.
- Take an active role in business development, maintaining strong client relationships and identifying new opportunities.
- Supervise and mentor trainees and junior associates.
- Travel internationally at short notice as required.
Requirements
- England & Wales (or other common law) qualified solicitor from a leading international law firm.
- Applicants at the 3 to 7 years PQE level will be considered
