About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join Royal Mail as Director of Commercial Excellence . This high-profile role acts as a strategic execution partner to the Managing Director of Out-of-Home & Commercial Excellence , driving and assuring the most critical initiatives across Marketing, Contact Centres, Commercial Systems (SAP & CRM), and Digital.
You will be at the centre of transformation, shaping communications, leading programme delivery, and aligning cross-functional priorities. This is a unique opportunity to influence the future of one of the UK’s most iconic organisations.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the MD to define and deliver strategic initiatives that accelerate growth, transformation, and customer impact.
 - Act as a trusted advisor, providing insight and solutions to complex commercial and organisational challenges.
 - Serve as the strategic glue across Marketing, Digital, OOH, Contact Centres & Commercial Systems—aligning leaders and surfacing interdependencies.
 - Lead organisational transformation, embedding new ways of working and driving cultural change.
 - Enhance the MD’s external presence through media preparation, PR engagements, and executive communications.
 - Develop high-impact executive presentations, storylines, and scripts for internal and external audiences.
 - Drive board-level and external reporting with clarity, consistency, and precision.
 - Lead the MD’s Office, interfacing with CCO & CEO offices (Royal Mail and IDS), ensuring timely and impactful delivery.
 - Represent the MD in select forums, ensuring continuity of leadership and decision-making.
