Senior Validation Actuary

Job Details

We have partnered with one of the largest General Insurers to find them a Senior Validation Actuary to join their second-line risk function, focusing on independent model validation, governance, and strategic oversight of capital modelling activities. This senior role will work closely with executive management, the Board, regulators, and Group functions. Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the independent review and challenge of the Internal Model, including annual re-validation, model change assessments, and top-down aggregate validation.
• Produce high-quality validation reports to support Board approval of model appropriateness.
• Independently assess Standard Formula appropriateness.
• Develop and maintain robust model validation frameworks, policies, and documentation in line with Solvency UK / Solvency II requirements.
• Monitor external regulatory and market developments to assess impacts on models.
• Collaborate across the three lines of defence to ensure best practice in governance and oversight.
• Lead and mentor a small team, ensuring technical excellence and an effective validation process.
