Deputy Superintendent CT and General X-ray Radiographer
About the department
Our Imaging & Diagnostics service sits at the heart of the patient journey and plays a vital role in delivering timely, accurate and compassionate care. As one of the first clinical touchpoints for many pathways, the department supports consultants and multidisciplinary teams by providing high‑quality diagnostic imaging in a calm, reassuring environment.
Working collaboratively with radiologists, clinicians, Medical Physics Experts (MPEs), Radiation Protection Advisers (RPAs), and patient administration teams, the service ensures that all imaging is delivered safely, efficiently and in line with the highest clinical, regulatory and governance standards. Precision, professionalism and patient comfort underpin everything we do.
About the role
As the CT/General X‑ray Deputy Superintendent Radiographer, you will play an integral role in the safe and effective delivery of our imaging services across CT, General X‑ray, DEXA and Theatre. Acting as an IR(ME)R Practitioner, you will justify imaging requests, ensure compliance with IRMER 2017 and IRR17, and maintain meticulous attention to radiation safety and local rules.
Alongside your clinical duties, you will support day‑to‑day operational leadership including rota planning, training and competency development, equipment quality assurance, incident reporting and stock management. You will work closely with Consultant Radiologists and multidisciplinary colleagues to optimise pathways, enhance patient experience and drive continuous quality improvement across the service.
This role is ideal for a radiographer with strong CT expertise, excellent clinical judgement, and a passion for leading by example within a modern, patient‑centred diagnostic environment.
