Regional Sales Engineer - Industrial Sealing Solutions (UK, Benelux & Nordics)

Dover Precision Components
St John's, Greater London

Introduction

We are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer – a hands‑on, technically strong sales professional – to develop new business and expand market share across the UK, Ireland, Benelux and Nordic regions. This field‑based role goes beyond pure transaction sales; you will operate with a high level of autonomy, craft a regional business plan, and collaborate closely with customers, distributors and internal technical teams to deliver practical, value‑based solutions in demanding industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and execute a strategic plan that targets new customer calls and expands existing accounts within the MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) sector.
  • Design and deliver sales techniques and training for customers, distributors and representatives to boost sales volume and gross profit.
  • Provide technical support and application expertise, ensuring the right product fit for each customer’s needs.
  • Partner with internal engineering, manufacturing and customer‑service teams to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Build and nurture strong customer relationships to maximise sales potential and satisfaction.
  • Schedule (and often participate in) on‑site product installations, troubleshooting issues and demonstrating technical expertise.
  • Analyse market penetration in the assigned territory, develop competitive sales plans and work to increase market share.
  • Apply appropriate pricing strategies based on market position and account dynamics.
  • Mentor, coach and develop distributor sales teams and representatives to drive higher sales volumes.
  • Prepare and deliver training and educational programs for customers, distributors and end‑users.
  • Conduct regular reviews with clients’ engineering/manufacturing staff (often in person) to resolve bearing design, quality or performance issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity, pipeline development and customer interactions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in industrial field sales or technical roles, preferably with rotating equipment or mechanical seal expertise.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience in industrial field sales is also acceptable.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical applications and equipment‑reliability principles.
  • Proven experience with the MRO selling model, working across direct sales and distribution channels.
  • Fluent in English (both spoken and written).
  • Valid passport, ability to travel internationally and an insurable driving record.
  • Preferred background: mechanical‑engineering apprenticeship, City & Guilds qualification, or comparable hands‑on technical training; experience transitioning from a technical/service/engineering role into sales; exposure to industrial aftermarket, reliability or maintenance‑focused sales environments.

Working Conditions

  • Field‑based role covering the UK, Ireland, Benelux and Nordic territories.
  • Regular travel to customer sites and distributor locations; international travel required.
  • Company‑provided car, laptop, phone and field equipment.
  • High degree of autonomy with ownership of regional business planning.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary complemented by a performance‑related bonus structure.
  • Company car, laptop, phone and necessary field equipment.
  • Comprehensive total‑rewards package that reflects responsibilities, experience, education, location and key skills.
  • Opportunity to manage a region with real ownership and autonomy.
  • Strong support from internal engineering, manufacturing and inside‑sales teams.

Growth Opportunities

This role offers the chance to grow business across an international territory in a highly technical industrial environment, positioning you for future leadership responsibilities within the organization.

Equal Opportunity Statement

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, disability, age, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by law.
