£28,734 - £30,246 per year
40 hours per week
We have an opportunity for a Caretaker within Sanctuary Maintenance Contractors Limited (SMCL). SMCL is responsible for delivering high quality and cost effective property repairs and refurbishments, estate services, gas servicing, and installation and maintenance services across the UK, to both internal and external clients. The job holder will ensure that they fully understand and fulfil their responsibilities in respect of both Health & Safety and Equality & Diversity at all times. This profile is not an exhaustive list of duties and other activities may need to be carried out requiring similar skill levels.
The role of Caretaker will include:
- Provide an effective estate maintenance service by undertaking caretaking, cleaning, basic repair and grounds maintenance duties, in accordance with local and legislative procedures
- Provide accurate and timely information on progress and advice
- Ensure accurate daily work records are completed to meet organisational standards
- Identify and report any potential maintenance issues, to ensure a safe environment is maintained and to support planned maintenance programmes
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and used in line with policies and procedures and relevant regulations
- Reporting faults, hazards and inappropriate practice promptly, to ensure a safe living and working environment
- Ensure all supplies and stocks are ordered, maintained and stored appropriately
- Maintain relationships with internal and external customers, and respond positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery to meet customer expectations in accordance with contract specifications, escalating complaints as appropriate
- Contribute to special programmes and projects in support of the Group's values and objectives
Skills and experiences:
- Experience in a similar role or completing similar tasks
- Working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
- Some experience of working to deadlines and prioritising workloads
- Good communication skills and interpersonal and customer care skills
- Ability to understand verbal instructions
- Basic communication skills for reading written instructions and updating records
- Ability to use and update computerised systems (including PDA) for work scheduling
- This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence

- Role salary is £27,940 with an additional policy allowance of £793 per annum (rising to £29,411 with an additional policy allowance of £835 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
