Long-Term Primary Teacher - Key Stage 1, Lewisham

The role

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that build secure foundations in reading, writing and mathematics.
• Assess pupils' learning and use the information to plan clear next steps.
• Establish consistent routines and create a calm, positive classroom environment.
• Adapt teaching so pupils with different strengths and needs can participate and make progress.
• Work closely with teaching assistants and other colleagues to support learning across the class.
• Communicate appropriately with families and staff about pupils' learning and wellbeing.

A long-term assignment allows a teacher to get to know a class, build strong relationships and contribute to wider school life. Key Stage 1 teachers may also draw on their knowledge of phonics, early language development and the transition from Reception into Year 1.

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status and has recent primary classroom experience.
