School Receptionist | Hounslow
The Opportunity
Are you a master of first impressions, a multitasking expert, and a calm voice in a busy environment?
We are seeking a highly organized and professional School Receptionist to join a thriving and inclusive school community in Hounslow . As the "face" of the school, you will be the first point of contact for parents, visitors, and students. In a borough known for its incredible diversity and global connections near Heathrow, this role requires someone with exceptional communication skills and a heart for service.
Core Responsibilities
Front of House Excellence: Providing a warm, professional welcome to all visitors, ensuring the reception area remains tidy, organized, and representative of the school’s high standards.
Communication Management: Handling a busy switchboard with efficiency—directing calls, taking accurate messages, and managing the general school email inbox.
Safeguarding & Security: Managing the visitor sign-in system (e.g., Inventry) and ensuring all guests are issued with the correct ID badges in line with strict safeguarding protocols.
Administrative Support: Assisting the wider office team with data entry on the school’s Management Information System ( SIMS, Bromcom, or Arbor ), including attendance monitoring and basic report generation.
Student Services: Acting as a central hub for student enquiries, managing lost property, and providing basic first aid coordination (training provided if necessary).
Why This School?
Hounslow’s Global Community: Work in a dynamic, multicultural environment that celebrates a wide array of languages and traditions.
Modern Office Suite: Benefit from a newly refurbished administrative wing with ergonomic workstations and the latest school management software.
Supportive Operations Team: Join a collaborative "back-office" family that values teamwork, humor, and mutual support during peak school hours.
Career Development: Access to local authority training in Safeguarding, First Aid, and advanced MIS modules to help you grow within school operations.
Candidate Profile
Experience: Previous experience in a high-volume reception or administrative role (experience within an educational or clinical setting is a distinct advantage).
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to learn school-specific databases quickly.
Communication: Flawless spoken and written English, with the ability to de-escalate challenging situations with diplomacy and grace.
Character: A "can-do" attitude, a high level of discretion regarding sensitive information, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
