Job Description
Job Title
\nAVP Marketing
\nJob Description
\nWe're looking for an AVP of Marketing to help shape the next phase of UnderwriteMe's growth.
\nWe're investing in our marketing capability as we expand our portfolio and bring new propositions to market. We're looking for a leader who can strengthen how customer, commercial and market insight shape growth decisions across the business.
\nThis is a global role, reporting to the Chief Product Officer. You'll lead Product Marketing, Brand and Customer Marketing across our Decision Platform and Protection Platform businesses, helping us identify growth opportunities, bring new propositions to market and strengthen how we communicate value to customers.
\nThis role sits at the intersection of Product, Commercial and Marketing. You'll play an active role in the direction of both our Decision Platform and Protection Platform businesses as part of their Leadership Teams, helping shape strategy, identify growth opportunities and influence key business decisions.
\nThis is a hands-on leadership role. You'll lead a small team while remaining actively involved in strategy, positioning, launches, customer insight and key business decisions.
\nWhat you'll do
\n- \n
- Define the marketing strategy across Product Marketing, Brand and Customer Marketing, owning marketing investment and budget decisions to ensure resources are focused on opportunities with the greatest commercial impact. \n
- Shape positioning, messaging and proposition strategy across the UnderwriteMe portfolio, helping customers understand our value and commercial teams communicate it effectively. \n
- Lead go-to-market strategy for new products, capabilities and strategic initiatives, improving the effectiveness of launches and market adoption. \n
- Bring customer, market and competitive insight into product, commercial and business decision-making, ensuring priorities are informed by evidence rather than assumption. \n
- Lead pricing and packaging strategy across the UnderwriteMe portfolio, balancing customer value, market competitiveness and commercial performance to support sustainable growth. \n
- Identify market opportunities, emerging trends and changing customer needs, helping shape growth strategy, proposition development and investment decisions. \n
- Strengthen the UnderwriteMe brand, ensuring our market presence, narrative and communications reflect the value we deliver to customers and partners. \n
- Improve how customer outcomes, success stories and market evidence are captured and used to support growth, adoption and commercial conversations. \n
- Play an active role on the Decision Platform and Protection Platform Leadership Teams, aligning priorities, challenging assumptions, improving cross-functional execution and helping drive business performance and growth. \n
- Establish clear measures of success for marketing activities and use insight and performance data to continuously improve effectiveness and impact. \n
- Represent the voice of the customer and market in senior leadership discussions, influencing business strategy and helping the organisation make better decisions. \n
- Lead, develop and grow a high-performing marketing team, creating clarity, accountability and strong cross-functional collaboration. \n
What success looks like
\nIn your first year you will:
\n- \n
- Strengthen the positioning, narrative and market presence of both the Decision Platform and the Protection Platform. \n
- Improve how customer and market insight informs product, commercial and strategic decision-making. \n
- Increase the effectiveness of proposition development, go-to-market execution and product launches. \n
- Build stronger customer proof, evidence and market credibility to support growth and commercial performance. \n
- Establish marketing as a trusted strategic partner to Product and Commercial teams, with a clear and measurable contribution to business growth. \n
- Build a connected marketing community across UnderwriteMe, bringing together Product, Brand and Customer Marketing with the local Revenue Marketing teams to share insight, align priorities and maximise impact. \n
- Build close working relationships with Pacific Life Re and Pacific Life marketing colleagues, ensuring UnderwriteMe is well connected to the wider group. \n
- Develop a high-performing marketing function that combines strong execution with strategic influence. \n
What you'll bring
\nMarketing leadership experience
\nYou have experience leading Product Marketing, Go-to-Market or broader marketing functions within B2B SaaS, technology or platform businesses. You've successfully launched products, propositions or new capabilities and can demonstrate the commercial impact of your work.
\nCommercial judgement
\nYou understand how products, customers, markets and revenue growth connect. You're comfortable making trade-offs, prioritising investment and focusing teams on the areas that will create the greatest impact.
\nCustomer and market orientation
\nYou know how to uncover meaningful customer, market and competitive insight and turn it into practical actions that improve products, propositions, go-to-market execution and business performance.
\nPositioning and storytelling expertise
\nYou have a track record of developing compelling positioning, messaging and propositions that help customers understand value and help commercial teams win.
\nLeadership and influence
\nYou build trust quickly, bring people together around shared outcomes and can influence senior stakeholders across multiple functions. You've built and developed high-performing teams while maintaining high standards for execution.
\nThriving in growth environments
\nYou're comfortable operating in a business that is evolving and scaling. You can balance strategic thinking with practical execution and are energised by building new capabilities, improving how things work and helping organisations grow.
\nGlobal market experience
\nYou've supported growth across multiple international markets and understand how customer needs, market dynamics and commercial priorities vary by region. You're comfortable working across time zones and collaborating with teams, partners and customers around the world.
\nNice to Have
\n• Experience within insurance, insurtech, fintech or another regulated industry.
