Location: Common Purpose, Mayfair.
Type: Full-Time
Salary:
• Base salary (PAYE): £30,000 per annum
• Client List Remuneration: On target earnings up to £5,000 per annum (paid quarterly, based on client list engagement and success)
• Community Manager Bonus: On target earnings up to £5,000 per annum (paid quarterly, based on key performance indicators)
• Annual Club Performance Bonus: Paid on December 24th
• Total Annual Remuneration Target: £40,000 per annum
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Trainer & Community Manager to join our team. This unique hybrid role requires a strong background in the health and fitness industry, specialised expertise and proven leadership experience in event coordination, marketing, and community engagement. The ideal candidate will balance their role as a Senior Trainer with strategic initiatives to grow and strengthen our gym’s community.
Senior Trainer Responsibilities
• Deliver 34 hours of personal training per week on the gym floor (~4 days per week).
• Manage a client list of 12-16 clients, ensuring high retention, training frequency, success and satisfaction.
• Serve as a role model and mentor to junior personal trainers, guiding them in best practices for client management and gym floor professionalism.
• Design and implement high-quality training programs tailored to client goals and abilities.
• Track and evaluate client progress, adapting training strategies as necessary.
Community Manager Responsibilities
• 1 day a week (8 hours) developing and implementing social media and communication campaigns that align with overall marketing strategies.
• Create engaging text, image, and video content for social media platforms.
• Monitor and respond to comments and customer queries in a timely, professional manner. • Track and analyse online customer engagement metrics, using insights to refine strategies.
• Monitor feedback and online reviews, reporting trends and insights to the leadership team.
• Organise and participate in events that build community, improve brand awareness, and drive client engagement.
• Collaborate with the Marketing, PR, and Communications teams to ensure consistent branding and messaging.
• Stay informed on gym updates, new products, and industry trends to effectively communicate with the community.
• Foster and maintain relationships with customers, potential clients, industry professionals, and journalists.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging digital technologies, social media trends, and innovative community engagement strategies. Key Requirements & Skills Fitness Expertise & Senior
Trainer Skills:
• Extensive experience (at least 5 years) as a Personal Trainer or Coach with a specialised focus in one or more areas (strength & conditioning, nutrition, pre-post natal, rehab etc.)
• Proven ability to build and maintain a high-quality client roster.
• Strong mentoring skills to support and develop junior trainers. Community Management & Marketing Experience:
• Proven work experience as a Community Manager, Marketing Coordinator, or similar role in the fitness industry.
• Experience launching and managing community initiatives, such as ambassador programs, event series, and online engagement forums.
• Strong understanding of social media management for brands, including content creation and engagement strategies.
• Ability to track and analyze key performance metrics (e.g., event attendance, online engagement).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
