Salary: 19-22 per hour Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience)

About The Company:

The Company is an established and professional accountancy firm based in Croydon seeking an experienced, reliable and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join the team on a part-time, self-employed basis.

About The Role:

This position is primarily focused on reviewing accounts preparation work completed by junior team members and ensuring that all assignments meet professional and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reviewing Accounts: Check limited company accounts, sole trader accounts, partnership accounts, VAT returns & CIS returns.
• Tax Compliance: Review corporate and personal tax computations.
• Quality Control: Spot errors, fix discrepancies, make corrections and ensure work meets UK accounting standards
• Supporting Staff: Offer brief guidance and feedback to junior accountants and bookkeepers.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy and quality across client work.
• Input data into software for Self-assessment tax returns

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years' experience working within a UK accountancy practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of statutory accounts preparation and UK Tax and cloud accounting software and Sage.
• Experience reviewing accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
• Good understanding of UK accounting standards and compliance requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong communication
• ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification preferred, although qualified by experience candidates will also be considered.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in an office-based environment.
• Ability to use various software such as Quickbooks, Xero, Sage
• Proficient in Excel
• Must be self employed
