Head of DevOps

We're working with a forward-thinking organisation committed to delivering cutting-edge technology solutions. To achieve this goal, they are seeking an exceptional Head of DevOps to lead the DevOps team through a cloud transformation project from scratch.

About the Role:

As the Head of DevOps, you'll be responsible for growing and managing a team of experienced engineers, leading the charge on their cloud transformation project, and driving innovation in their technology infrastructure. Key Responsibilities:

Team Growth and Development:

  • Hire, manage, and develop a team of skilled DevOps engineers.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Establish clear goals, objectives, and performance metrics for team members.

Cloud Transformation Project:

  • Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive cloud strategy.
  • Migrate existing applications to the cloud, leveraging industry-leading platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Develop and deploy cloud-native applications using DevOps principles and practices.

Technology Vision and Roadmap:

  • Develop and maintain a technology vision and roadmap aligned with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate emerging technologies and trends.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud computing, DevOps, and IT trends.

Operational Efficiency and Scalability:

  • Design and implement automated testing, deployment, and monitoring pipelines.
  • Develop and maintain a robust CI/CD workflow for efficient release management.
  • Implement scalable infrastructure solutions to support business growth.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:

  • Collaborate with IT leadership to ensure alignment with organisational goals.
  • Communicate technical vision, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance on cloud and DevOps best practices.

Process Improvement and Optimization:

  • Develop and maintain DevOps processes and guidelines.
  • Continuously monitor, analyse, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives and optimize resources.

Requirements:

Technical Proficiency:

  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and technologies (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform).

Leadership and Management:

  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and developing leaders.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills.

Business Acumen:

  • Understanding of business objectives, goals, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Experience with strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
  • Industry-recognized certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
