Kilter's Working Structure

The Role
To support Kilter’s growth, they are looking to hire an Actuarial Apprentice to support the Investment team. The person in this role will report to the Investment Vice President and work closely with the 2 Investment Associates and the Investment Analyst. The Investment Apprentice will have the opportunity to gain hands on experience by supporting the Investment Team in the provision of Professional Services to other group companies as it relates to the advising and arrangement of investments.
The two key pillars of the Professional Services the Investment Apprentice will be involved in are:

Apprenticeship Scheme Details
The course provider for Kilter’s Actuarial Apprenticeship will be BPP (Level 4 Actuarial Technician Apprenticeship - BPP). The course is run remotely, so classes are virtual and access to all study materials will be distributed online. Students will have access to a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) where they can reach out to other students during the course.
Each student will also have a BPP coach assigned to them who will support them in their studies alongside their Kilter line manager. BPP have their own induction period for apprentices to be introduced to their course coach and discuss study plans. They will also have several opportunities to meet their coach to review the course progress.
As this apprenticeship involves a combination of work and study, the course structure is flexible to help students balance both sides of the role and takes around 2 years to complete. Apprentices are entitled to a set number of study hours during the working week, to help balance their responsibilities and ensure they are successful. Kilter also has a flexible working model and would allow additional study time to help meet assessment deadlines where necessary.
The assessment process for the level 4 apprenticeship is a combination of exams and practical assessments. The End Point Assessment (EPA) consists of a case study task, followed by a Q&A discussion with a moderator and a further interview with an independent assessor.
At the end of the course, you will have the opportunity to complete the level 7 Actuary Apprenticeship to then qualify as an Actuary.
