Implementation Engineer - Contractor

Proximie
London

Proximie is on a mission to improve healthcare by transforming the world’s operating rooms into connected ecosystems of people, devices, and data.

Our Intelligence Suite transforms operating room (OR) performance, keeping teams in sync and workflows on track to maximise throughput. Simultaneously our computer vision and AI capabilities capture real-time data and detect surgical events – improving quality of data outputs. The result: ORs are optimised like never before – with predictive analytics and automated notifications ensuring patients and staff are in the right place at the right time.

Once practitioners are in the OR, our Surgical Suite enables real-time remote access and creates a secure video record of every procedure; improving training, education, and collaboration. It is an intuitive asset which helps instil a culture of continuous learning, accelerates the adoption of cutting-edge medical devices, and enhances surgical performance across the entire global workforce – improving outcomes and saving lives.

Proximie was commercialised in 2019 and is available in over 800 facilities globally.

To support this phase of growth, Proximie is seeking an Implementation Engineer to join the European team, based in London, on an initial 3-month contract with potential for extension. This role is hands-on, client-facing, and pivotal to delivering a best-in-class implementation experience across Europe, with an immediate focus on the UK.

The Implementation Engineer will deliver high-touch implementation services spanning installation, configuration, clinical support, and ongoing engagement - operating with autonomy while collaborating closely with internal Product and Engineering teams.

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting SaaS, AV, hardware, or similar technical platforms.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with medical devices or within operating room environments.

  • Experience with CAD to support mapping / site surveys.

  • Strong capability in technical troubleshooting, diagnosis, and problem resolution.

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while delivering consistently high standards.

  • Excellent communication skills and confidence working directly with clinical and technical stakeholders.

  • Self-directed, resilient, and comfortable operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.

Desirable

  • Video and audio hardware experience.

  • Experience working in startup or high-growth technology environments.

Travel

  • Willingness to travel up to 75% across the UK to customer sites, including hospitals, operating rooms, laboratories, and surgical centres.

  • Flexibility to work outside standard business hours where required, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends, to meet customer needs.
