A thriving primary school in Southwark is offering an exciting opportunity for a skilled SEN Teacher who is keen to transition into a Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) position. This role begins in October 2025 (or January 2026 at the latest) and includes full training and support for the right candidate.

Role overview

• Coordinate SEND provision across the school while receiving mentoring and structured training.

• Work closely with classroom teachers to promote inclusive practice.

• Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure children's needs are fully met.

• Take responsibility for managing EHCPs, intervention programmes, and individual support plans.

Person specification

• Proven experience as an SEN Teacher in a mainstream primary or specialist setting.

• Strong interest in progressing towards a SENCO role.

• Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership potential.

• Willingness to undertake SENCO accreditation if not already achieved.
