We are looking for a Cultural Insights & Strategy Director to join us in London at an exciting point in our trajectory, at a time where decoding culture has never been more important and we are growing our London team to meet our client needs.

This individual will be someone who can inspire, coach and lead project teams, who can bring high level strategic thinking and rigour to our outputs, who is used to engaging with senior client stakeholders, who is commercially focussed, and can sell ideas and projects.

Our research practice is grounded in high quality work and we are keen to engage with candidates who share our passion for culture, and ensure Crowd DNA achieves the highest quality possible across their projects and deliverables at all times. This involves advising on project design, project/client management and signing off debriefs while acting as a final filter for anything going out to clients. It is also important to give constructive feedback to the team and make sure they know what’s expected of them in terms of quality.

The details

  • Maintaining and growing existing client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor in the senior London team that leads to Crowd DNA reaching their financial targets
  • Ensure the highest quality and profitability possible on all proposals, pitches and projects that go out from Crowd DNA. Measure of success - wins and returning clients, meeting net revenue targets
  • Ensure high standard project delivery, great thinking, big impact and best in class deliverables. Measure of success – satisfied and returning clients
  • Provide thought leadership on best practice in delivering culturally charged commercial advantage both internally (to team in informal and formal training sessions) and externally (at conferences, blog posts, webinars, client workshops)
  • Empowering other to do their work to the best of their ability. Fostering an environment where people have a degree of autonomy within their roles and are clear on their responsibilities and are working towards their strengths.
  • Follow and instilling Crowd DNA’s values across team and work
  • Developing synergies between other STRAT7 agencies leading to larger opportunities for the group as a whole

The requirements

  • Strong experience and passion collaborating with senior clients within the cultural landscape, (across different sectors but including lifestyle, retail, sport, media and tech)
  • Excellent experience in primary and secondary qualitative methods (groups, IDs, ethnographies, trends, semiotics)
  • Team leadership experience and great management skills
  • Willingness to mentor team members and develop their strengths and autonomy
  • Evidence of strategic thinking and ownership of research design, tackling complex questions and providing clients with clear, actionable insights

The role comes with a competitive salary of up to £80,000 and clear paths to promotion and to new opportunities.

Recruitment Process

The cycle comprehends two or 3 interviews, depending on everyone's agendas at this time of the year. It could be all done virtually or we may ask you to come and meet us at the office for stage two:

1st Stage – Around 45 minutes

2nd Stage – Around 1 hour – case study/live task

Possible 3rd stage chemistry meeting with team – 15 mins
