- oQualified Clinical Scientist in GI physiology through the NHS Scientist Training Programme (STP) or GI Physiologist STP Equivalence with the Academy for Healthcare Science (AHCS)
- oRegistered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- oRegistered with The Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists (RCCP)
- oAccredited Independent Healthcare Practitioner with the Association of GI Physiologists (AGIP)
- oTrack record in research
- oClinical experience performing, analysing and reporting lower GI Physiology investigations
- oExperience of scientific data handling
- oExperience in research methodology (e.g. PhD, MSc)
- oScientific publication record
- oKnowledge of functional gastrointestinal disorders
- oKnowledge of current trends / treatments in pelvic floor disorders
- oUnderstanding of clinical governance and risk assessment
- oEvidence of continuing professional development
- oAble to manage difficult situations effectively
- oAble to impart information to patients, relatives and carers and also across disciplines
- oWillingness to undertake further training and development as required
- oProven ability to organise and prioritise own duties and work independently
- oAbility to maintain good laboratory records
- oUnderstanding of Clinical Governance
