Estate Operative / Cleaner – London, SW15

Role Overview
Location: London, SW15
Salary: £27,308 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Your Responsibilities
As an Estate Operative, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall condition of the estate. Your attention to detail and proactive approach will help ensure a welcoming environment for all residents.

Daily Tasks:

• Empty waste and recycling bins, ensuring proper disposal.
• Maintain spotless front entrances.
• Identify and report lighting faults in communal areas.
• Check and secure riser cupboards.
• Monitor external downpipes and escalate any concerns.
• Ensure doors close securely and arrange repairs when needed.
• Report leaks, faulty intercoms, and other maintenance issues.
• Keep the compactor area clean and organised.

Twice Weekly (Tuesdays & Fridays):

• Vacuum communal staircases and landings.
• Wash entrance halls, using appropriate safety signage.

Monthly Duties:

• Inspect and clean tank rooms, balconies, and communal lighting.
• Ensure the compactor area remains in excellent condition.

What You’ll Bring:

• Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards.
• Clear communicator, confident in reporting issues to the Estate Office and Compliance & H&S teams.
• Physically fit and comfortable working both indoors and outdoors.
• Proactive and solution-focused mindset.
• Previous experience in estate, facilities, or building management is beneficial but not essential – full training will be provided.
