We are seeking a dedicated and caring Year 1 Teacher to join a warm and inclusive Catholic primary school in Kensington . This full-time, permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to inspire young learners at the start of their educational journey, within a nurturing faith-based environment committed to excellence and holistic child development.

The School
This is a welcoming and well-regarded Catholic primary school in Kensington with a strong sense of community and faith. The school promotes Gospel values and aims to educate the whole child—spiritually, academically, and socially. Staff work collaboratively to create an inclusive, caring, and stimulating environment where every child is encouraged to flourish and reach their full potential.
Year 1 Teacher Responsibilities
· Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons for Year 1 pupils, following the national curriculum and the school’s Catholic ethos.
· Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners and ensure progress for every child.
· Foster a nurturing, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that supports early learning and development.
· Use formative and summative assessment to monitor progress and inform teaching.
· Work closely with colleagues and the leadership team to develop effective learning strategies.
· Communicate regularly and positively with parents and carers regarding pupils’ progress, wellbeing, and faith formation.
· Contribute to the wider life of the school, including participation in liturgical events and community activities.
Year 1 Teacher Requirements
· Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
· Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally Year 1.
· A commitment to supporting the Catholic ethos and values of the school.
· Strong understanding of early years and Key Stage 1 curriculum and assessment.
· Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills.
· Enthusiastic, reflective, and passionate about fostering a love of learning in young children.
· Ability to work effectively as part of a supportive and collaborative team.
