Technical Superintendent (LNG) - Permanent - London – Competitive

A leading LNG shipping company with a global presence are recruiting a Technical Superintendent to join their team in London.

Reporting to the Fleet Manager, duties will include (but not limited to);

• Anticipating and driving Safe and Flawless Performance of assigned vessels' operational requirements including: Dry-dock and major repairs and scheduled and unscheduled maintenance repairs
• Ensuring arrangements in place for maintaining appropriate certification
• Promoting Health and Safety as Corporate Values
• Providing Technical and Operational support and guidance to assigned vessels
• Coaching and developing Masters, Chief Engineers and direct reports ashore
• Arranging class surveys in a timely and cost effective manner
• Coordinating with relevant shore-based resources to support the vessels
• Ensuring timely analysis of monthly financial reports
• Analysing the nature and root cause of any serious breakdown or damage
• Monitoring results of all vetting inspections and other internal or external audits and ensure follow-up on findings and close outs in timely manner
• Carrying out regular risk reviews for vessel operations and ensure appropriate actions are taken
• Set clear goals and expectations for Masters, Chief Engineers and direct reports ashore
• Management and Planning of manuals / procedures as required for terminal operations
• Promptly manage incidents/Defect, including root cause analysis and preventive measures
• Monitor vessels maintenance works based on the PMS with focus on Critical equipment and overdue jobs

To be considered for this position you will have sailed as a Chief Engineer onboard LNG Carriers AND have shore-based experience as a Technical Superintendent or within a similar capacity.

The successful candidate must have a deep understanding of technical operations for the vessel types managed, alongwith a desire to drive continuous maintenance and operational condition of the Company’s vessels and a desire to drive continual improvement in self and others
