About the Role

The successful candidate will provide essential support for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the school site. You will assist with facilities management, routine maintenance, and general upkeep, ensuring that the school remains a safe and welcoming environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Site Manager with maintenance, cleaning, and organisation of school buildings and grounds

  • Assisting with the setup of rooms, halls, and outdoor areas for lessons, events, and functions

  • Performing routine checks and minor repairs to ensure the site is safe and functional

  • Supporting waste management, recycling, and the upkeep of communal areas

  • Responding promptly to any urgent maintenance or safety issues

  • Assisting with health and safety compliance, including fire checks, alarms, and equipment inspections

  • Ensuring that the school site is secure and presentable at all times

Experience and Skills

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience in a site, caretaker, or facilities support role, ideally in a school or similar environment

  • Be practical, reliable, and able to carry out minor maintenance tasks

  • Demonstrate strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively

  • Be aware of health and safety regulations and procedures

  • Be proactive, flexible, and responsive to site needs

  • Work collaboratively as part of a facilities team
