Solar PV Electrician

About the Role
We are recruiting an experienced and fully qualified Solar PV Electrician to join our professional renewable energy team. This is a senior-level technical role offering a top-tier salary of £60,000 , long-term stability, and clear progression into the position of Nominated Technical Person (MCS) within the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, test, commission, and maintain domestic and commercial solar PV systems
- Perform AC/DC electrical work, including string configuration and inverter commissioning
- Ensure full compliance with BS7671 , MCS , DNO , and manufacturer standards
- Carry out electrical inspection, testing, and certification to a professional standard
- Diagnose and repair system faults, provide technical support, and complete warranty work
- Produce accurate installation records, test sheets, and handover documentation
- Work independently and as part of a high-performing technical team
- Maintain excellent customer communication and professional conduct at all times
Mandatory Qualifications (Essential)
Candidates must hold all of the following:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
- (City & Guilds 2365/2357, EAL Level 3, or JIB Gold Card Electrician)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671:2022 A2)
- MCS-approved Solar PV qualification , such as:
- LCL Awards Level 3 Solar Photovoltaic Systems
- BPEC Solar PV
- City & Guilds 2399-12
- EAL Level 3 PV Installation
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Minimum 2 years proven experience in Solar PV installations
Preferred Qualifications (Advantageous)
- City & Guilds 2391-52 Inspection & Testing
- Battery storage installation training (LCL Awards / EAL)
- G98 / G99 / G100 experience
- ECS / CSCS Card
- Previous work under an MCS or NICEIC certified installer
