A welcoming and high achieving primary school in Hammersmith is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their KS2 team as soon as possible until the end of the academic year with the view to go permanent. This Teaching Assistant role will involve supporting a pupil with SEN on a 1:1 basis, alongside assisting within the wider classroom environment. For experienced Teaching Assistants and those new to the education sector, this is an excellent opportunity for a graduate seeking Teaching Assistant experience before teacher training, or for an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to progress within a supportive and thriving primary school setting. Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant:
Support pupils to make strong academic and social progress under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO
Deliver targeted interventions on a 1:1 or small-group basis as a Teaching Assistant
Help create a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment
Support pupils with emotional or social barriers to learning
Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
Promote independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
Person Specification for the Teaching Assistant:
Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
A degree or equivalent qualification is preferred
A genuine passion for education and supporting young learners
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A positive attitude and willingness to learn as a Teaching Assistant
