Employment Solicitor, 0.5-2.5 PQE, London

Our client's Employment team, highly recommended by both Chambers and The Legal 500, provides Employment advice across UK and internationally. The department is now looking to bring on board a solicitor with between 6 months to 2 and half years' experience to the London office.

The successful candidate will be taking on a balanced workload of employee and employer work. Employee work (for senior executives, partners and managers) can range from advice on grievance and disciplinary matters, to unfair dismissal, discrimination and whistleblowing issues, as well as litigation in the Employment Tribunal and High Court and settlement agreements. Employer clients include brands in tech, retail and pharma and work will include similar matters, in addition to general day-to-day advice, strategic and management issues, reorganisations and business transfers.

The firm does not operate strict partner teams and so the successful candidate will benefit from working with a wide range of experienced partners and senior fee earners. Lawyers are afforded significant responsibility and autonomy once they have demonstrated that they are capable, as well as monthly one to one meetings with Team Leaders, as well as regular performance and career progression meetings.

Given that my client is a smaller and entrepreneurial firm, lawyers are expected to take a more 'hands-on' approach to their workload than what is often the case in larger firms and therefore the successful candidate will be skilled in managing their own admin and file management.

• Being able to manage client and colleague expectations effectively, including when issues arise.
