We're recruiting dedicated ASD, SEN teaching assistant professionals to support pupils with special needs, specifically autism, in this supportive educational environment with flexible hours available .

YOUR ROLE As an SEN teaching assistant, you'll be:

  • Supporting pupils with autism through tailored learning approaches in our specialist special needs setting
  • Working as a committed teaching assistant with primary-aged pupils, building positive relationships with children who have special needs including autism
  • Providing essential personal care support whilst maintaining dignity for pupils
  • Collaborating with special needs teachers to create inclusive learning experiences for pupils with autism and varying requirements
  • Assisting with daily routines and specialised equipment as a dedicated teaching assistant in our special needs school
  • Recording detailed observations of pupil progress within our autism-focused educational framework
  • Supporting behaviour management strategies tailored to individual special needs and autism requirements

IDEAL TEACHING ASSISTANT CANDIDATE We're seeking enthusiastic individuals with genuine passion for special needs education who demonstrate resilience when supporting pupils with autism.

Essential qualities:

  • Enthusiastic & dedicated personality
  • Experience supporting pupils with special needs, especially autism (ASD)
  • Background in educational settings as a teaching assistant - primary age range preferable
  • Strong communication abilities suitable for special needs environments
  • Proactive, committed, resilient and reliable approach to teaching assistant responsibilities
  • Willingness to provide personal care support to pupils with autism and special needs
  • Team Teach certification highly desirable (or willingness to train)
  • Knowledge of Makaton and physical restraint/team teach training (MAPA, PRICE) advantageous - training can be arranged
