We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and committed History Teacher to join the successful Humanities faculty at a well-regarded secondary academy in the Hounslow area of West London.

This is a full-time, permanent position starting in January 2026 .

The Opportunity

The successful applicant will be an inspirational and highly effective History specialist dedicated to delivering rigorous, evidence-based lessons that encourage critical thinking and source analysis. You will be joining a supportive environment where the past is brought to life, and students are challenged to debate and understand complex global contexts. This role focuses on outstanding classroom practice and contributing to the department's strong academic record.

To attract an exceptional candidate, this role includes a generous Recruitment and Retention (R&R) Allowance of £2,000 per annum . This financial incentive is a purely financial reward designed to support excellent teachers and their commitment to our school community.

We Are Looking For:

  • A qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) .
  • A proven track record as an excellent History Teacher with experience teaching the subject to at least Key Stage 4 (GCSE) .
  • A genuine passion for the subject and the ability to inspire students of all abilities.
  • A strong commitment to research-informed teaching and enriching students' historical understanding.
  • The drive to contribute positively to the academic life of the school.

Salary and Benefits

  • Main Pay Scale/Upper Pay Scale (MPS/UPS) for Teachers.

    • The base salary will be paid according to experience within the statutory Outer London Pay Scale (The Outer London Main Pay Range minimum is approximately £37,870 as of September 2025).
  • A fixed Recruitment and Retention (R&R) Allowance of £2,000 per annum.
  • Excellent, structured professional development and career progression pathways.
