Associate Product Manager - Insurance

Position summary

We are looking for a driven Associate Product Manager to join our Flexibility Products team, working across both our in-house OTA brands and our major B2B partners. In this role, you will step into a fast-paced technology organization and play a crucial part in supporting our travel insurance and underwriting portfolio - covering strategy, insurer and underwriting partnerships, coverage design, regulatory compliance, and commercial performance .

Whether you are at the start of your Product Management career, or a more established Product Manager looking to bring your experience into the exciting world of travel tech, this role offers the perfect environment to grow. This is not just a supporting role - you will take full ownership of insurance initiatives and workstreams, from initial requirements all the way through to implementation, working closely with insurers, underwriters, brokers, along with internal stakeholders and B2B partners.

Responsibilities

• Support the Travel Insurance PM in delivering the insurance product roadmap, strategy, and commercial performance across in-house brands and B2B partners.

• Own insurance initiatives, capabilities, and workstreams from requirements through to implementation.

• Support the creation and maintenance of Epics, Features, business cases, requirements, use cases, and supporting documentation, in line with product roadmap governance.

• Support insurer sourcing and partner evaluation activities, contributing to due diligence, comparison, and selection processes

• Support partner onboarding and relationship management with insurers, underwriters, and brokers, helping ensure smooth implementation and ongoing collaboration.

• Support underwriting and regulatory compliance governance, ensuring product design, customer journeys, and commercial initiatives reflect regulatory and underwriting requirements, in collaboration with insurers, partners, legal, and compliance teams.

• Support portfolio performance management by tracking KPIs such as insurance revenue, attach rate, active provider partnerships, and regulatory compliance.

• Assist with market and competitive research within the insurance sector, and support market expansion initiatives covering new insurers, products, and markets.

• Support experimentation and A/B testing activities to validate product and commercial hypotheses.

• Assist with forecasting and profitability analysis, providing product expertise and market context to support business assumptions.

• Support crisis and incident response processes relating to claims or underwriting escalations, helping coordinate a timely and appropriate resolution.

• Act as a delegate for the Travel Insurance PM when required, representing insurance products in meetings, reviews, stakeholder discussions, and delivery forums.

• Support B2B onboarding initiatives and help ensure insurance product capabilities meet client requirements and implementation needs.

• Contribute to business reviews, client presentations, product narratives, and adoption plans.

• Track insurance initiatives, risks, dependencies, and implementation progress, escalating issues where appropriate.

• Develop deep knowledge of the travel insurance portfolio, underwriting and regulatory landscape, partner ecosystem, and operating model.

Requirements

• Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• 3+ years of relevant working experience in product management, insurance/underwriting operations, or a related commercial role (preferably within insurance, insuretech, travel tech or SaaS products).

• Experience creating product documentation, business cases, and presentations for both internal and customer-facing audiences.

• Self-organized and thorough, with an intrinsic appreciation for driving projects forward efficiently.

• Capacity to work independently and as a team member with minimal supervision.

• Ability to act proactively, take initiative, and pay close attention to detail.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication, with the ability to translate complex concepts into non-technical business value.

• High level of responsibility and integrity, combined with eagerness to work in a multicultural, international environment subject to continuous change.

Preferred

• Prior exposure to insurance, underwriting, or regulated financial products, ideally within travel insurance or a related sector.

• Entry-level data analysis skills (some exposure to BI tools, knowledge of MS Excel, ability to prepare reports and map data from different sources).

• Previous exposure to building or working on B2B customer-facing products and tools.

• Familiarity with tools such as Jira / Confluence / Qlikview/Qliksense.
