Welcome to Motel

Our story began during a road trip in the 1990s, where our founders, Will and Andy, travelled across America collecting vintage items while living out of motels. They started purchasing vintage clothing in the USA and selling it wholesale, which eventually led to the creation of stores. From there, they began designing reworked vintage pieces, and thus, Motel was born.

Over 30 years and a team of 200+ people later, every piece of clothing we make is created with the same spirit of fun, freedom and adventure as the road trip that first defined the brand. We’re still ambitious and independent, but now we’re a global team - we work from an operational base in Worcester, a design studio in London and a creative studio in Bali.

The role

As the Garment Technologist, you’ll support the delivery of a consistent, high-quality product across all Motel categories.

You’ll play a critical role in supporting the technical development process and transforming creative designs into commercially viable products. You’ll work across multiple areas, supporting the delivery of high-quality, well-fitting products that meet Motel brand standards, customer expectations and critical path deadlines.

This role offers the opportunity to build on strong technical foundations while gaining exposure to the full product lifecycle in a fast-paced, design led environment.

  • Create excellent working relationships with supply base

Critical Path & Product Tracking

  • You’ll ensure technical processes remain on track, maintaining accuracy across product development stages

  • Maintain and update the development tracker throughout the sampling process

  • Support adherence to the critical path, ensuring all updates and actions are completed on time

  • Risk assess all product, highlighting issues early to avoid delays.

  • A collaborative team player who builds strong working relationships with ease

  • Enthusiasm to continue developing technical skills and gaining confidence across the product lifecycle
