Legal Support Level 3 Apprenticeship 2026

You don't need to be a lawyer to be a leader in this supportive and inclusive professional environment. Just be yourself. And start by joining the backbone of our legal team with our Legal Support team.

About the role

The Legal Support team are based in our centralised support team, The Cube. They work on producing high quality administrative support such as printing, scanning, copying documents, filing electronic mail, booking travel, and processing expenses. Colleagues work in small teams based on the working floors of our offices, delivering excellent customer service.

This is a fully office-based role, working a shift pattern between 8:30am and 5:30pm. Under Team Leader guidance, you'll complete tasks assigned via a workflow management tool, ensuring deadlines are met.

In short, the Legal Support team is essential for making sure the lawyers have everything they need to do their job well while developing valuable skills.

Successful applicants will complete the Business Administration Level 3 apprenticeship with BPP.

Future progression opportunities include advancing into Level 1, 2, or 3 roles or moving into other areas of the business, such as Finance, HR, Paralegal or PA roles.

What we are looking for

There is no such thing as a ‘typical' Addleshaw Goddard candidate. As a firm, we are shaped by different perspectives, and we know our success depends on giving opportunities to people from a range of backgrounds, locations and perspectives.

As a Legal Support Apprentice at Addleshaw Goddard, a typical day might look like:

  • You start your day by checking any new work requests which have come in overnight.
  • You book travel on behalf of a Partner, in readiness for an upcoming week-long trial.
  • You spend time redacting a document for a fee earner, ensuring that any identifiable information is removed.
  • You complete a task to print, bind and paginate a trial bundle for a Trainee Solicitor.
  • Throughout the day, you check in with various key stakeholders to see if they require support. In doing this, you receive a request to process a set of expenses on behalf of a Managing Associate.
  • At the end of the day, you will restock any of the stationery supplies and ensure that outgoing post is processed before courier deadlines.

You'll work with lots of different people, learn how the firm operates, and gain valuable skills for your future career.

There are some qualities we would like you to bring to this role. However, please don't be put off if you don't meet all of them, we will build your skillset.

  • Good Communication : You can talk and write clearly, and you're happy to ask questions or explain details.
  • Team Player : You enjoy working with others and helping the team and firm achieve its goals.
  • Organised : You keep track of your tasks and can manage time well, even when things get busy.
  • Problem Solver : You like finding solutions to challenges and aren't afraid to try new ways of working.
  • Attention to Detail : You check your work to make sure information is accurate and nothing is missed.
  • Willing to Learn : You're open to learning new skills, including using new technology/AI tools over time
  • Adaptable : You are able to manage several tasks at once and prioritise effectively.
  • Confidentiality : You understand the importance of keeping information private and safe.
  • Customer Focused : You want to help colleagues, creating a smooth experience.

What you can expect

With Addleshaw Goddard, you can expect a supportive team culture, a flexible, friendly and state-of-the-art working environment, and an attractive salary and benefits package.

For the role of Legal Support Apprentice, we will reward you a first-year salary of £25,000.

We have a range of benefits, including access to healthcare, mental health support and wellbeing and lifestyle initiatives.

Our dedicated Early Careers team will help to guide you before you start your apprenticeship and whilst in the role, including delivering the right level of training and development opportunities via our Early Careers pathways.

Eligibility and Recruitment Process

To be eligible for the apprenticeship, you must have achieved 3 A-levels (or equivalent qualifications) at grade C or above as well as 5 GCSE's grades 4/C or above (or equivalent qualifications), including English and Maths.

The recruitment process is made up of three steps:

  • Application Form: You start by filling in an online form with your details, such as your education, work experience (if you have any), and why you want the job. Please note that applications will go live on Monday 20 April and will close on Friday 29 May.
  • Voice Interview: This stage is usually done online in your own time, where you answer questions about yourself and your motivation for the role. This will take place in June.
  • Assessment Centre: Here, you'll take part in different activities, including an interview, a group task and an in-tray exercise where you show how you would handle tasks you might do in the job. The assessment centre will take place between Monday 29 June and Monday 13 July.

Please note, we may close applications earlier if we receive a high volume of applications, so we recommend that you apply early.

Diversity and Inclusion

We are an equal opportunity employer, and we do not discriminate on the basis of a person's sex, gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, background or any other protected characteristic. We are committed to having a diverse team and actively encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds and communities.

If you require any adjustments or support during the application or interview process, for example, extra time or accessibility support, please let us know. You can request this within your application or contact us on [email protected].

All offers of employment are subject to right to work in the UK. If you need sponsorship to work in the UK, please indicate this in your application. We assess applications based on merit and suitability for the role, regardless of immigration status.

This role will begin on Monday 5 October with an induction in our Manchester office.
