UK Retail SME Account Executive / Director
SME Dual-Class Insurance Executive / Director
Our client, a respected and rapidly growing independent insurance brokerage, is seeking a talented and entrepreneurial SME Producing Executive to join their commercial lines team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced broker with a proven track record of generating new business and managing SME accounts with premium spends in excess of £10,000.
This role will focus on developing and placing dual-class commercial risks, with particular emphasis on key growth sectors such as:
• Restaurant Chains & Hospitality Groups
• Care & Nursing Homes
• Property Owners & Developers
• Multi-site & Franchise Businesses
The Role
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in originating and nurturing new client relationships, designing bespoke insurance programmes across various classes of business including Property, Liability, D&O, and Commercial Combined.
Key responsibilities include:
• Proactively sourcing and converting new business opportunities within target sectors.
• Building long-term relationships with clients and becoming a trusted risk advisor.
• Working closely with underwriters to negotiate competitive terms and secure capacity.
• Providing high-touch service throughout the full policy lifecycle – from proposal to renewal.
• Supporting the wider team in strategic business development initiatives.
The Candidate
Our client is looking for an ambitious and confident professional who thrives in a fast-paced, relationship-driven environment.
Key requirements:
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in commercial insurance broking, preferably in a client-facing or producing capacity.
• Solid understanding of dual-class risks and SME insurance markets.
• Strong track record managing or producing accounts with £10K+ premium spend.
• Commercially astute, with excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Self-starter with a proactive approach to business development.
• Cert CII or above (or working toward it) preferred.
