Purpose of the Role
The DP3 Coach (Data Driven Professional & Leader) exists to help learners build confidence in using data to inform decisions, generate insight, and drive tangible business impact .
In this role, you will coach, mentor, and teach learners on Corndel’s Level 3 data technician programmes, supporting them to move from data awareness to confident, practical application. You will help learners understand not just how to work with data, but why it matters , how to communicate insight clearly, and how to apply sound judgement when working with data in real organisational contexts.
You will combine strong data capability with a coaching mindset — empowering learners to take ownership of their development, challenge assumptions, and apply data ethically and effectively in their roles.
Core Responsibilities
Learner Coaching & Development
Manage a caseload of learners, building trusted relationships through high quality coaching, mentoring, and structured teaching.
Deliver engaging one to one sessions and workshops that make data concepts accessible, relevant, and practical.
Empower learners to develop confidence with data by encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and reflection.
Create an inclusive, psychologically safe learning environment where learners feel comfortable asking questions, testing ideas, and learning from mistakes.
Data Literacy & Insight
Support learners to develop core data skills, including data preparation, analysis, visualisation, and interpretation.
Coach learners to use tools such as Excel, Power BI, and related platforms to generate meaningful insights and communicate them clearly.
Help learners connect data analysis to real business questions, decision making, and outcomes.
Model integrity and good judgement in how data is used, interpreted, and communicated, including awareness of data quality, bias, and ethical considerations.
Progress, Quality & Outcomes
Guide learners through programme milestones, assessments, and portfolio development, ensuring consistent progress and timely completion.
Support learners to produce high quality, compliant evidence that genuinely reflects their capability and workplace impact.
Engage constructively with learners’ line managers to align learning with organisational priorities and support progression.
Take ownership for quality and compliance, balancing learner support with high standards and clear expectations.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Work collaboratively with colleagues across Operations, Product, and Curriculum to deliver a consistent and high quality learner experience.
Proactively identify opportunities to improve delivery approaches, learner engagement, and outcomes.
Stay curious and committed to continuous development, keeping up to date with data tools, practices, and ways of working that enhance learning.
Technical Skills & Experience
Essential
Practical experience working with data in a professional context.
Strong working knowledge of Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, data validation, and analysis techniques.
Knowledge of Power Query and how it can be used for data cleansing, importing data and automation of repetitive tasks.
Experience using Power BI or similar tools to analyse data and create clear, intuitive visualisations.
Confidence using Microsoft tools such as Teams, Word, and PowerPoint to support communication and learning.
Experience coaching, mentoring, teaching, or facilitating learning in a professional environment.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain data concepts clearly to learners with varied confidence levels.
Desirable
Familiarity with efficiently using AI tools to support data-driven insights
Experience with Power Pivot, Power Automate, other Microsoft Power Platform tools.
Familiarity with Google Suite (Google sheets, docs, slides and looker)
Familiarity with digital engagement tools including Miro, Whiteboard
Teaching or coaching qualifications, or experience delivering structured learning.
Experience supporting learners in apprenticeship or vocational learning contexts.
What Success in This Role Looks Like
In this role, success means that you:
Consistently support learners to complete their programme and End Point Assessment successfully and on time.
Are trusted by learners as a knowledgeable, supportive, and approachable expert.
Enable learners to apply data confidently to inform decisions and create business impact.
Maintain high standards of quality, professionalism, and learner care.
Contribute positively to a collaborative, inclusive, and high performing team culture.
What Brilliant Looks Like
At its best, this role creates impact beyond individual learners:
Learners describe your support as pivotal in building their confidence and capability with data.
You spot patterns across cohorts and proactively improve learner experience and outcomes.
You help learners move beyond reporting to insight, judgement, and influence.
You challenge learners constructively, helping them make better decisions rather than just better charts.
Your influence supports organisations to embed data driven thinking in a responsible, sustainable way.
Who This Role Is For
This role is ideal for a data practitioner, analyst, or educator who:
Enjoys helping others develop confidence and capability with data.
Believes good data use combines technical skill with judgement and integrity.
Values inclusion, empowerment, and impact alongside technical competence.
Wants to shape how individuals and organisations use data to make better decisions.
