Receptionist – Welcoming Independent Secondary School – Richmond upon Thames

The Role

The school is seeking a highly organised and professional Receptionist to act as the first point of contact for visitors, parents, and students. This is a key front-facing role requiring excellent communication skills, a calm and approachable manner, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the main reception area, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment

  • Handle incoming calls, emails, and visitor enquiries efficiently

  • Maintain safeguarding procedures including visitor sign-in protocols

  • Provide administrative support to the wider school office

  • Manage correspondence and communication with parents and staff

  • Maintain accurate records and assist with general office duties

  • Support the smooth day-to-day running of the school

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and prioritise workload

  • Good IT skills and familiarity with administrative systems

  • Commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality
