Role Descriptions & Responsibilities

SOLIDWORKS, a Dassault Systèmes brand, is a leading provider of collaborative 3D CAD design and product development solutions used by millions of designers, engineers, makers and students around the world.

As a Business Planning & AI Analytics Intern, you will work at the intersection of data, AI, and business strategy. You will design and develop data pipelines, analytics dashboards, and AI-driven applications to analyze large datasets such as product bookings or license lifecycle data. Your work will help create custom internal tools and AI-powered insights that support strategic decision-making across the SOLIDWORKS organization.

This role is ideal for someone interested in Python, data science, machine learning, and building lightweight data applications.

Some of your other responsibilities include:

· Create, design, modify, and optimize WebI reports for efficient report generation.

· Implement formulas, variables, and advanced calculations to enhance report functionality.

· Develop Python-based analytics workflows to process and analyze large datasets (sales bookings, licensing data, usage data, etc.).

· Apply AI and machine learning techniques to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in business data.

· Build interactive dashboards and analytics applications using modern tools (e.g., Plotly Dash, Streamlit, or similar frameworks).

· Implement data exploration tools powered by LLMs to enable natural language queries on business datasets.

· Work with stakeholders to gather and analyze reporting needs.

· Troubleshoot and resolve data inconsistencies, report errors, and performance issues.

· Collaborate with the BI team, database administrators, and business users to enhance reporting capabilities.

· Analyze macro-economic indicators & trends (PESTEL)

· Identify trends, market drivers, and new market segments for growth

· Support strategic initiatives and team projects

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, or related field

· Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

· Strong Python programming skills for data analysis and automation

· Experience with data analysis libraries (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy)

· Experience with data visualization tools (Plotly, Dash, Streamlit, Power BI, or similar)

· Familiarity with machine learning or AI frameworks (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar)

· Understanding of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts

· Experience with KNIME or workflow automation tools is a plus

· Familiarity with SQL and working with large datasets

· Strong knowledge and proven experience with SAP Web Intelligence (WebI)

· Ability to design interactive and dynamic dashboards.

· Ability to work independently, within a collaborative team structure, and across business groups

· Ability to adapt to changing work and project requirements

· Highly organized with critical attention to details

· Highly skilled with Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

· Data analytics experience

· Market research experience
