The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based across the UK. We are looking for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team. Shifts: Shifts run across Monday to Sunday (full time or part time available or ad-hoc) Hours : Start times any time between 12:00pm to 21:00pm (Flexibility for shift times required) Pay Rates (PAYE): Midweek Rates Outside London: £18.15 per hour Within London: £19.71 per hour Overtime after 8 hours: £25.25 per hour Peak Midweek Rates - 09.11.2026 - 27.12.2026 (these rates also apply to drivers after 12 weeks of service after the peak period) Outside London: £19.15 per hour Within London: £20.71 per hour Overtime after 8 hours: £27.25 per hour Weekend Rates Saturday: £23.52 per hour Saturday overtime after 8 hours: £25.25 per hour Sunday: £26.25 per hour Bank holidays: £34.42 per hour Peak Weekend Rates - 09.11.2026 - 27.12.2026 (these rates also apply to drivers after 12 weeks of service after the peak period) Saturday: £24.52 per hour Saturday overtime after 8 hours: £27.25 per hour Sunday: £27.25 per hour Bank holiday: £35.42 per hour Locations: Nationwide (UK) Job Type: Ongoing The role: Execute depot pull, filling the back of a trailer at the depot and transporting it to a hub. Engage in customer work, taking the vehicle to a customer to collect a trailer, delivering it to a hub, and returning to the depot. Assist with loading and unloading at customer sites and in the depot Perform drop and swap operations, sometimes using a tail lift, and occasionally doing trailer swaps requiring uncoupling the vehicle. Collaborate with a team to ensure efficient operations and timely deliveries. Travel to local sites for a one-off download of the tacho card prior to being put forward for the position. Attend an on-site induction for the first shift. Requirements: Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E). Have at least 6 months of proven experience driving the relevant vehicle - please note that anyone under 12 months on licence will be required to undergo an assessment which are either at Smethwick or Hinckley. Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card. No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only). Less than 12 infringement points in any one month and no infringement points for three consecutive months. Flexibility to work shifts across Monday to Sunday with start times from 12 pm - 9 pm (all paid at night rate). Ability to travel to local site for tacho card download prior to being put forward.
