We are currently working with a school based in East London and they are looking for SEMH Teaching Assistants to join their team full-time on an ongoing temproary basis.

SEMH Teaching Assistant – Full-Time

Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact on the lives of young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a forward-thinking specialist school in East London.

About the Role: This is a full-time, ongoing temporary position with the potential to transition into a permanent role for the right candidate. You’ll be working within a supportive, multidisciplinary team committed to creating a nurturing and structured environment where pupils can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

Support students with SEMH needs on a 1:1 and small group basis

Work closely with teachers and therapists to implement tailored learning and behavioural strategies

Help students to manage emotional regulation and social interactions

Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom atmosphere

Contribute to students’ educational, social, and emotional progress

Ideal Candidate:

Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (in education or youth settings)

Calm, compassionate, and consistent in approach

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Resilient under pressure and committed to safeguarding and inclusion

Level 2 or 3 TA qualification desirable, but not essential
