Our client, a highly regarded mid-tier professional services firm, is looking to appoint an experienced Audit Assistant Manager to join their Private Client team.

This team provides a broad range of audit, accounting, and advisory services to privately owned businesses, entrepreneurs, and high-net-worth individuals. The successful candidate will work closely with Partners and Directors, supporting a growing portfolio of clients while delivering high-quality, value-added services.

What you will be doing as an Audit Assistant Manager

  • Leading audits and preparing statutory accounts for UK and international groups under FRS102 & FRS105
  • Acting as a primary contact for clients, supporting Engagement Partners
  • Delivering value-added audit insights, including reporting on risk, controls, and financial performance
  • Managing statutory and management accounts processes
  • Providing technical accounting support on complex issues, including share schemes
  • Collaborating with internal teams (tax, corporate finance, etc.) to deliver joined-up client service
  • Managing deadlines across a portfolio of clients
  • Budgeting, billing, and overall client engagement management
  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing junior staff
  • Supporting business development and networking activities
  • Contributing to wider advisory work, including exposure to forensic accounting and business valuation

What you will need to succeed as an Audit Assistant Manager

  • ACA or ACCA qualified
  • Strong audit and accounts experience gained within practice
  • Proven experience managing a portfolio of clients
  • Excellent knowledge of FRS102 & FRS105
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Commercially aware with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Experience with accounting/audit systems (e.g. CCH) is beneficial but not essential
