Operations Manager
London Heritage Quarter (LHQ) is a collaborative alliance of four Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) spanning Victoria, Victoria Westminster, Whitehall, and Northbank. Stretching from Belgravia to the Royal Courts of Justice, the Quarter is home to some of London’s most iconic landmarks, including Parliament Square and Trafalgar Square. This area includes the historic processional route through Central London and major transport hubs, serving as a dynamic centre for government, business, world-class hospitality, and cultural institutions.
Our mission is to enhance LHQ as a place to work, visit, and live. We deliver diverse and creative programmes that protect the environment, celebrate our unique heritage, and build strong community connections. Our work is guided by a 5-year business plan and focuses on placemaking, sustainability, and operational excellence.
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Operations Manager to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in shaping the future of the London Heritage Quarter and ensuring it remains a thriving and sustainable hub for businesses, residents, and visitors alike.
In this role, you will:
- Oversee and resolve street-based issues, improving the public realm across our BID areas.
- Manage the Integrated Street Services contracts, ensuring delivery aligns with agreed specifications, KPIs, and service level agreements.
- Build and maintain effective partnerships with local stakeholders and statutory agencies.
- Represent LHQ in the community and at operational meetings, championing high standards in service delivery and street management.
- Investigate contractor performance issues and coordinate remedial action to ensure continuous improvement and minimal disruption.
You will work closely with our Executive Team and contractors to enhance the vibrancy, safety, and cleanliness of our streets—playing a key role in creating a well-managed, welcoming environment for all.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in street operations, public realm management, or facilities management.
- Knowledgeable of current UK criminal and anti-social behaviour legislation.
- An excellent communicator with strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Confident working independently, while also collaborating effectively with others.
- Organised, diplomatic, and solution-focused with strong stakeholder management skills.
- Educated to a good standard, with relevant professional experience in a similar role.
Why Join Us?
At LHQ, we are committed to creating a supportive, innovative, and inclusive work environment. You’ll be part of a collaborative team driving real improvements in London’s iconic heritage areas. We offer opportunities to grow professionally while making a visible impact in a unique and dynamic setting.
We are proud to be an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all backgrounds. We value diversity and are committed to fostering a fair and inclusive workplace where everyone is respected and empowered to succeed.
Along with our benefits we are offering a salary of £40,000 to £42,000 depending on your experience.
