Your mission?

We're looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our growing team and help shape the future of our product. This is a role for someone who's confident across the entire product design lifecycle, from early research and UX thinking to elegant UI design, and is energised by working on complex problems in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

As a Senior Product Designer, you'll work in a cross-functional squad alongside product, engineering, and data, leading design efforts across web and mobile. As a part of the AI squad, your goal is to build products leveraging AI to improve the operational efficiency and care quality for our users.

Who are we looking for?

• Take ownership of the end-to-end design process for our AI team, from discovery to delivery
• Design elegant and intuitive AI experiences across mobile and web platforms
• Translate abstract AI concepts into clear, user-centric interfaces and interactions
• Collaborate closely with PMs, engineers, and other designers to shape product strategy and execution
• Lead and conduct research to investigate and validate ideas
• Use storytelling, visuals, and prototypes to communicate your ideas clearly and compellingly
• Contribute to and evolve our design system (iconography, components, etc.)
• Champion user needs and bring strong UX thinking to every stage of product development

What skills do you need?

• 4+ years of experience designing digital products (B2B preferred), with at least 1 year operating at a senior level
• Able to independently drive a problem space from idea to solution
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and shaping product experiences that are not yet well-defined. Experience with designing 0 to 1 products.
• Adept at creative problem-solving. You know when to apply patterns, when to challenge them, and how to make trade-offs in complex environments
• You value partnering closely with product and engineering to solve problems together and create meaningful outcomes
• Strong communicator, able to articulate design decisions clearly and engage others in your thinking
• Strong UX and UI craft
• Bonus: experience in healthtech, AI interfaces, or designing tools for non-technical users

Compensation

Our salary packages are competitive, the role is £65k - £75k per annum. We also grant generous stock options to any permanent employee at the end of the probation period. We adjust salaries based on the cost of living index for employees based outside of the UK.

Location

This role will need to be based in the UK. We organise regular in-person events and online socials to make sure you can meet up with peers.

Birdie does not currently support any visa applications and therefore we do require permanent right to work in the UK.

Learning an growing is a fundamental part of Birdie life. You'll have an annual personal development budget to put towards books, courses, trainings and conferences; continuous coaching within the team and with external experts.

Making your workspace comfortable is important to us, you'll have access to a WFH equipment budget to ensure you have what you need.

We offer 33 days of holiday (inclusive of bank holidays) and close between Christmas and New Years outside of this. We also support you in celebrating the big moments, all Birdies get an extra "Birthday" day off and can choose to take it at any point in the year.

Sabbaticals

We want Birdies to stick around for a while! After 4 years you can choose to take a sabbatical of up to 3 months.

Parental Leave

Highly favourable parental leave policy; once you have spent twelve consecutive months on our payroll, primary caregivers are entitled to 26 weeks of parental leave at 100% of your usual salary and secondary caregivers are entitled to 12 weeks of parental leave, at 100% of your usual salary.

Fertility Leave

Birdie recognises the emotional and physical challenges of fertility treatment and investigations, and supports all Birdies by offering 5 additional paid days of leave.

Employer pension contribution

Birdie contributes 4% of your salary to your pension when you contribute 5% (UK Birdies)
