Private Housekeeper /Cook- Live in- North London
We are working with a friendly and down-to-earth UHNW couple in North London to assist in hiring a long-term live-in full time Housekeeper. The Household is relaxed yet highly refined, and the Principals value loyalty, professionalism, and genuine care within their team.

You will be responsible for the daily cleaning, organisation, and overall presentation of a beautifully renovated four-storey residence featuring four bedrooms, a cinema room, generous living spaces, and a separate summer house equipped with a sauna, gym, and pool. The property is also staffed by a gardener, part time cleaner, part time maintenance person and Executive Assistant. The role requires a Housekeeper who takes pride in maintaining exacting standards while supporting the smooth running of the home. We are also looking additionally for a part time housekeeper to support the full time role - ideally someone who also likes to cook, not at a top chef level, but informal relaxed home cooking 2-3 times maximum per week. The full time person will be the one required to do some cooking.

This is a live-in position offering well-appointed accommodation within the property’s light-filled lower ground floor, complete with a side entrance. The couple also own a second home on the South West coast, and occasional travel will be required to prepare and maintain the property ahead of family visits. You will have the support of a part time housekeepers and a full time houseman.

Key Responsibilities
Daily cleaning, housekeeping, and overall presentation of the main residence
Laundry and ironing, including care of delicate and high-value fabrics
Wardrobe management and organisation
Kitchen management including stock checks, ordering, and rotation
Cooking family-style meals and assisting with small dinner parties when required
Care and cleaning of fine art, furniture, and specialist items
Weekly full-house review and reporting of any maintenance needs
Coordination of contractors, gardeners, and ad hoc staff, eg support cleaner
Running errands, including shopping, dry cleaning, and deliveries
Travel to the second property to oversee upkeep and prepare for family arrivals
Care and organisation of the summer house, pool, gym, and external leisure areas
House and pet sitting when the Principals are away
Ideal Candidate
MUST have the right to live and work in the UK
Previous experience working as a Housekeeper in private households or luxury hospitality
Strong housekeeping, laundry, and wardrobe management skills
Experience caring for fine art and specialist materials is advantageous
Confident with light cooking and family-style meal preparation
Comfortable with animals (small dog and two cats)
Discreet, trustworthy, and committed to long-term employment
Warm, proactive, and able to work independently
Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable within a UHNW home
Package
Working schedule: 5 days per week, typically 8:30 am–5:30 pm (flexibility required to work occasional weekends with days off in lieu)
Accommodation provided within a lower ground suite with a side entrance, a double bedroom with an en suite, a private living room, and near-exclusive use of the formal catering kitchen, which is also used for dinner parties from time to time
Parking permit provided
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 gross per annum (depending on experience)
Annual discretionary bonus
4% employer pension contribution
25 days holiday (plus bank/public holidays)
DBS check and three verbal references required
Probationary period: 3 months (2 weeks’ notice), thereafter 2 months’ notice
40 hours per week
