Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality music education to students across different year groups, catering to their individual needs and abilities.
- Plan and implement engaging and interactive lessons that adhere to the national curriculum and school policies.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods such as regular assessments and formative feedback.
- Create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that promotes creativity and encourages student participation.
- Organize and lead extracurricular music activities, such as choir, orchestra, and school productions.
- Collaborate with colleagues and actively contribute to the school's music department, including attending regular departmental meetings and sharing best practices.
- Establish effective communication channels with parents and provide regular updates on students' progress and achievements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Music or a related field. PGCE in Music Education is highly desirable.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
- Proven experience teaching music to primary or secondary school students.
- Strong knowledge of the national curriculum for music and ability to deliver creative and engaging lessons.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire students to excel in music.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues, students, and parents.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and keeping up-to-date with the latest trends and practices in music education.
