Then join us and we can be exceptional together., We are looking for an Assistant Engineer to join our Glasgow bridge team. Working on a wide range of bridge and structure projects you will collaborate on some of the most prestigious infrastructure programmes in the UK. You will also receive support for your professional development towards chartership with a tailored career plan.,
- Produce engineering designs, assessments and evaluations in accordance with project requirements.
- Prepare calculations, write reports, and check drawings.
- Check design calculations and drawings performed by other engineers.
- Perform a wide variety of engineering activities, including collating and analysing data, developing calculation methods, and working with colleagues to deliver consistently high-quality project work.
- Contribute to the dissemination of good engineering practice and implement in-house tools such as the carbon calculation tool.
- Plan and prioritise your workload with support from the project manager, reporting progress against the project budget and programme.
- Deliver your own work to a high technical standard, ensuring accuracy through diligent self-checking.
- Attend site visits and client meetings. Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng, BSc, MEng, MSc) with a clear ambition to work towards Chartered Engineer status.
- Experience working in an engineering environment, such as an industry placement or professional role.
- Familiarity with UK standards or equivalent European/Euro Codes.
- Understanding of CDM Regulations, specifically designers' requirements.
- Deep understanding and interest in engineering and a personal commitment to technical excellence.
- Ability and willingness to work in a diverse and multidisciplinary team.
- Good communication skills and teamwork ability. 28 days holiday plus all UK bank and public holidays.
