Bank Staff Nurse - ENT and Maxillofacial

Welbeck
London

About the department

Our ENT and Maxillofacial service delivers specialist outpatient care, diagnostics, treatments, and minor procedures in a modern, consultant-led environment. Supporting some of the UK’s leading ENT Surgeons and Maxillofacial Consultants, the service is focused on providing patients with exceptional clinical outcomes and a seamless, reassuring experience from first appointment through to treatment and follow-up.

Working closely with consultants, nursing teams, patient administration colleagues, and multidisciplinary partners, the department combines clinical excellence with a strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement. Patient-centred care, effective coordination, and high governance standards underpin everything we do.

About the role

As a Bank Staff Nurse, you will support the delivery of safe, effective and patient-centred care across our ENT and Maxillofacial service. Working flexibly according to service needs, you will assess patients, support consultations and procedures, and contribute to the smooth running of clinics and treatment sessions.

You will prepare clinical areas and equipment, maintain accurate records, provide patients and families with clear advice, and recognise and escalate clinical or safeguarding concerns appropriately. Depending on your training and competence, you may also undertake specialist skills including phlebotomy, cannulation, and allergy testing.

This bank opportunity is ideal for a motivated Registered Nurse who thrives in a fast-paced specialist outpatient environment and takes pride in delivering compassionate, high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based and patient-centred nursing care

  • Assess patients and support individualised care planning and evaluation

  • Assist with ENT and Maxillofacial consultations, procedures and treatments

  • Prepare treatment rooms, equipment and clinical areas

  • Provide patients and families with advice, education and reassurance

  • Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive clinical documentation

  • Recognise and escalate changes in condition, safeguarding issues and other concerns

  • Support efficient patient flow and the smooth running of clinics

  • Follow infection prevention, medicines management and governance requirements

  • Report incidents and contribute to audit and quality-improvement activity

  • Undertake extended clinical skills within competence and scope of practice

  • Work flexibly to support service delivery and operational needs

About you

You are a Registered Nurse with current NMC registration and experience delivering high-quality care in an outpatient, ambulatory, surgical, ENT or Maxillofacial setting. You communicate clearly and sensitively, work confidently within a multidisciplinary team, and remain accountable for your own practice.

Ideally, you will have experience in ENT, Maxillofacial, plastic surgery or another outpatient specialty, together with current ILS certification. Experience supporting minor procedures or local surgery, or undertaking allergy testing, venepuncture or cannulation, would be advantageous.

Reliable, adaptable and proactive, you are committed to clinical excellence, continuous professional development and an outstanding patient experience.
